Under exchange agreements with NFE, the money belonging to the victims was to be held in escrow until a transaction could be executed on the new property purchase.
The Literacy Education project described here has been one of the recent successful programmes run by the NFDE center of MECS and implemented at the local level at NFE Enlightenment centers.
The basic literacy programme takes place over one and a half years, and is held for three hours per day for five days a week at the NFE centres, usually housed in local schools.
