In addition to faster hiring, new export orders grew faster in March than February.
CLSA's new export orders index plummeted to 28.2 in November, from 44.3 in October.
And in September new export orders fell at the fastest pace in 42 months.
Meanwhile, new export orders received by manufacturers rose slightly, having fallen continuously since June.
Today's manufacturing survey shows new export orders declining in February, for the 14th month in a row.
In August new export orders for manufacturers were at their weakest since March 2009, according to Markit.
The new orders index fell marginally to 52.7 from 52.9, but new export orders rose 0.9 to 50.1.

"New export orders contracted after a temporary rebound in March, suggesting external demand for China's exporters remains weak, " said Qu Hongbin, China chief economist at HSBC in a statement.
In the HSBC's latest data, sub-indexes tracking new orders and new export orders both showed the pace of growth accelerating in March, indicating a sustained recovery in the sector.
New orders came in lower at 54.5 from 55.1, while new export orders surprisingly rose to 52.2 from 51.9 suggesting external demand continued to improve thanks to the U.S., but domestic demand may have weakened.
Considering the drop in new export orders in June to 47.5 from 50.4 and 52.2, Chang now thinks that domestic orders likely improved last month, suggesting more demand from consumers and therefore local corporates tied to the domestic economy.
The new data from Sageworks comes as the latest reading on U.S. manufacturing activity showed that the sector continued to grow only modestly in August as increased domestic new orders were partly offset by another drop in new export orders.
Following a brief brief period of stabilisation, which lasted roughly from November last year to this January, conditions have been steadily deteriorating in manufacturing sectors across the planet, with the deterioration being lead by an ongoing decline in new export orders.
