The Knowledge and Innovations Network for Literacy will provide literacy leaders from every nation with easy access to the resources needed to ensure that every child is literate.
The awards ceremony was followed by the launch of the Knowledge and Innovations Network for Literacy, a virtual workplace where literacy researchers and practitioners can share knowledge and debate literacy topics on online fora.
To this end, UNESCO established the Literacy Network for Iraq to increase access to literacy opportunities at community level while ensuring effective coordination among relevant stakeholders.
The establishment of a Literacy Network for Iraq responds to the main need of ensuring effective coordination as well as implementation of literacy and life skills programs.
These are produced by consultants from federal universities belonging to the Literacy Teacher Training network and serve as the basis for official accreditation of learning outcomes.
Created with support from Verizon Foundation and Microsoft, the Network is a virtual workplace where literacy researchers and practitioners can link up, share knowledge and debate literacy topics on line.
Some of the key accomplishments of the Creative Industries Support Programme include the increase of supplementary income of more than 800 Indigenous and Khmer artisans and artists who benefitted from continuous trainings in entrepreneurship, financial literacy and rural marketing as well as successful network establishment.
The network will generate knowledge and innovation in support of the acquisition and use of literacy, and promote advocacy, policy formulation and programme delivery, as well as cooperation and partnerships.
