Mr Schmidt said many companies had discovered that one consequence of using cloud-based services was that it forced them to find out everything about their internal network.

Ms Ford said banks had to have access to capital and liquidity to be able to take risks and start lending again, whilst Mr Schmidt said new rules may end up hindering economic growth.
Beyond the approval by the accountants and lawyers, the US stock market watchdog, the Securities and Exchanges Commission, has also "approved our last version" of provisions which was published in the 2000 annual report last February, Mr Schmidt said.
"We like the public Internet and we intend to use it, " Mr. Schmidt said.
" When asked if Google's service might resemble Facebook's, Mr. Schmidt said "the world doesn't need a copy of the same thing.
In the past Mr Schmidt has said ICT teaching in the UK puts too much emphasis on using, rather than creating, software.
When asked about Google's partnership with Zynga, Mr. Schmidt said "we haven't announced it" but "you can expect a partnership with Zynga" in the future.
"In the cloud... by definition you cannot log someone on under the desk, " said Mr Schmidt.

Mr Cameron's spokesman had said the prime minister had not mentioned the issue of Google's tax payments during discussions with Mr Schmidt, a member of the government's business advisory group.
