Programme Specialist for Education for all and Literacy, Qutub Khan, in a brief statement highlighted the importance of the partnership with the ministry of social affairs to achieve the EFA goals and Lebanon has started to reap the fruits of these efforts and the future seems very promising.

To help achieve this and other literacy-related goals, UNESCO, in close collaboration with the Literacy Department of the Ministry of Education and with funding from the Government of Japan, has begun implementation of the Enhancement of Literacy in Afghanistan (ELA) programme.

The public forum was chaired by Secretary, Ministry of Education and Training, Mr. Qamar Zaman Chaudhry , who reaffirmed the commitment towards all six goals of Education for All.
