The Ekati Diamond Minehas produced an average of approximately three quarters of a billion dollars of rough diamonds per year over the past five years, Harry Winston said in a statement.
The lunar outpost will most likely be placed on the lunar south pole, which is lit by the sun three-quarters of the time, and has possible resources to mine nearby.
