Ms Wilding, in post for eight months and one of only four female chief constables in England and Wales, said she was leading a mentoringprogramme aimed at encouraging more women senior police officers.
The mayor's mentoringprogramme was at the heart of this, but it has come under the spotlight as the role of the man at the centre of delivering the mayor's vision is being called into question.
The spokesperson added that Mr Lewis provided assurances to the mayor's previous chief of staff, Sir Simon Milton - who died in April - and the GLA's head of paid services, that he had "no conflicts of interest in relation to the mentoringprogramme bidding process".
