Its self-healing architecture, for example, and the ability to plug in and remove processors while the machine is running, would have obvious uses in e-commerce, where servers must be kept online around the clock and the amount of processing power needed may vary seasonally.
But this scale-out architecture represents a new design center, and there is much work still left to harness this machine and make it usable for the enterprise.
CIOs are going to think twice: Do they want another architecture in terms of the operating system, or do they want to bring in a Windows machine so that all their legacy and security apps run?
