In one application, Siemens' Industry Automation division--a customer of ours for two years--is placing our chips into human-machine interfaces and programmable logic controls for industrial automation machines.
Since a federal appeals court affirmed the USPTO in In re Bilski, lower courts around the country have adopted the same logic, saying patents must involve a machine or a process that transforms some type of material substance.
Logic would tell me that it created fewer jobs than it replaced, otherwise the cost of the machine would exceed the cost of the attendants and not be a good investment for the parking lot owner.
