An important aspect of the project is to try to imagine what kind of location-based services (and other wireless services) will be appropriate in a high-tech city 20 years from now.
The scientists said the project would provide information on the location and behaviour of basking sharks during the summer, and also track how far into deeper water they go in winter.
The find is providing more than just a precise location for the long-lost burial ground, said Nick Elsden, project manager from the Museum of London Archaeology, which is working with Crossrail on its sites.
