Granted, it's not as arresting as Momento - this one has a linearnarrative, so comparisons maybe unfair - but the superb direction and panic-driven editing lift this thriller way above its multiplex neighbours.
The result is a book that bears important witness to the way in which narrative history with its stale linear plots is in the process of being broken down and remade in richer, more variegated ways.
