If you've got joint credit cards, you need to contact those lenders and let them know that you're divorcing, and you want to maybe transfer that into your individual name.
Let them know that you are doing research into a specific area, such as technology.
Write to the reporter and or producer you dealt with for the interview and let them know one thing you appreciate about the story or how the interview took place.
Test the idea on everyone you know, and let them that you have a business concept you believe in and are committed to pushing forward.

As long as you are courteous and don't pester them, most companies will let you know one way or the other.
