Now, it just so happens that last week Turner Classic Movies presented Christopher Lee in the first of his three portrayals as the villainous crime lord (1965).
"I believe in the stereotype that British culture is more conservative and classic, " says Justina Lee, a 24-year-old auditor who lives in Manhattan and owns a pair of purple Hunter boots.
The character has long enjoyed cult classic status and found varying success on the big screen, portrayed by actors including Lee Marvin and Mel Gibson.
