Khwaja Mahboob told Pajhwok that he voted for a woman for a provincial council seat because he believed women should have a stronger say in Afghanistan.
Mr. Singh's comments come a day before Pakistani Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf is scheduled to visit India on a pilgrimage to the shrine of Sufi Muslim saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti in Ajmer.
His favourite composition, in a raga named after a town linked in Hindu mythology to the god Krishna, used words in praise of a 12th-century Sufi saint, Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti, the saviour of the poor.
