What he meant is that he knew all the research on all medications and treatments, but at the end of the day every patient is unique and he would have to make a judgementcall on what exact treatment to prescribe.
Later in the debate, Mr Straw rejected a Conservative call to prevent courts trying cases involving churches from making any judgement overriding Article Nine of the Convention, which protects religious freedom.
