Having knocked the government of Lionel Jospin for failing to cut taxes enough while he was outside it, Mr Fabius has yet toprove he is politically nimble enoughto persuade France's unwieldy left-wing coalition to swallow such reforms.
And that would be his fatal error: If there is one thing McCarthy means toprove, it's surely that one look is not enough, because there is so much more to her than meets the eye.
