The camcorder has a wide ISO gain setting range that allows sensitivity to be set between ISO 200 and ISO 3200 (in FILM CAM), or gain adjusted between 18 dB and-6 dB (in VIDEO CAM).

Additionally, the D3100's ISO range can expand to a Hi-2 setting of ISO 12, 800, furthering the opportunities for low-light shots that other cameras miss.

While I usually prefer Manual modes, I have no qualms about setting the X-E1 to Auto mode, including the ISO (up to 6400, though quality remains impressive at even higher ISOs).
