What we mean by this is that you start a discussion with your boss by expressing commitment to a cause, institution, or other code of conduct that you know your boss feels strongly about.
The answer is pretty clear: not only is it unfair, but we believe it's immoral that our tax code punishes society's most basic institution which is marriage.
