After widespread cellphone outages in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, the FCC tried to require wireless carriers to install backup batteries at all of their sites.
The company advises users to install the update on all "MacBook and MacBook Pro computers and extra batteries that were purchased between February 2006 and April 2007".
For aircrafts to return to flight, the will have to install the containment and venting systems for both the main and the auxiliary batteries, along with replacing the batteries and their chargers.
