Along with the initial high cost of purchasing an electric car, the lack of charging stations across the country is a big deterrent for consumers looking to buy electric cars.
The initial results from HSBC's January Purchasing Managers' Index survey of Chinese manufacturers showed activity there contracting, though at a slightly slower pace than in December.
While there will be up front costs of purchasing the new vehicles, over time the enormous fuel savings will more than make up for this initial outlay of capital, and Fedex is also gaining a reputation for being socially responsible, thus potentially attracting additional customers who would have otherwise used a competitor.
