While this excellent overview was published last December, the numbers are revealing in ways perhaps least understood: we can engender actuarial tables for insurers and re-insurers with respect to human mortalities directly or indirectly correlated to climate change (as in extreme weather events, etc.).
Inthis perspective, the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO (UNESCO-IOC) provided an overview on the key ocean issues that are being discussed through the Rio negotiation process and highlighted a number of desirable ocean targets that would mark a successful outcome at Rio.
