Announced last April, with shipping beginning in December 2011, the 20nm IMFT NAND uses a new cell structure that enables more aggressive cell scaling than conventional architectures.
Intel and Micron originally used this approach in their IMFT joint venture in the fall of 2008 to introduce 34nm NAND chips and are currently using it to produce NAND flash on 25nm and 20nm volume production processes.
