This is precisely why CI has adopted a new mission to demonstrate that biodiversity and healthy ecosystems are essential to human well-being, and why we are taking on the task of demonstrating this in a series of core countries, large and small, highly degraded and still largely intact, with both high and low levels of capacity and political commitment to creating Healthy Sustainable Economies.
