Mr. Cooper "has great and abiding respect for traditions embodied in law a historicposition in American jurisprudence, " said Mr. Starr, who defended Proposition 8 to the California Supreme Court in 2009.
"Indeed several of the areas under consideration are already covered by historic byelaws so this is just an exercise to update the position, " he said.
