Fujitsu is eager to shed its loss-making hard-disk drive business, in order to focus on gaining ground against formidable rivals IBM and Hewlett-Packard in information technology services consulting.
Users who choose to update their harddrive will need to have the original OS installation discs that was shipped with their system in order to re-install their operating system, and applications, along with any backed up data, will need to be reinstalled.
