Perennial Midas Lister Bill Gurley is the longest-serving active partner at Benchmark, the famed venture capital firm behind companies like Snapchat, Twitter and Uber, where Gurley sits on the board and led Benchmark's Series A investment in 2011.
The marketplaces guru is also a long-time backer of Zillow cofounder Rich Barton in another startup, job review site Glassdoor, where Gurley made the critical suggestion not to spend millions on marketing and saved the company, Barton says.
