She said it appeared that these drugs were more effective for patients suffering from acute attacks of multiple sclerosis, rather than those whose condition was growing gradually worse.
"You can imagine what kind of condition that may be, growing up around pipelines, growing up around people who are very agitated and fighting for their rights, human and civil rights, " she told CNN.
There is growing momentum among experts that there must be greater awareness of the condition and that the public should be armed with more information.
