Later Greene amended his denial, saying the statements Tice complained about were either true or Greene's privileged opinion and therefore not slanderous, court documents say.
"It's unwise for me to pick another fight with someone as wealthy as Mr. Greene, " said Tice in an interview, adding that Greene never apologized to him.
"I have spoken many times with Jeff Greene, " said Cecilia Blackstock, an administrative assistant who fielded Greene's calls at LRA Property and LB Property, in a declaration.
"I am personally aware that certain vendors refused to work on Mr. Greene's properties because Mr. Greene had failed to pay them for work they had completed, " said Briggs.

The catch: Greene agreed in the settlement to apologize to Tice after 90 days of digging in the records if Greene did not "go forward" with a material fraud claim.
In an interview, Lenny said because Greene had served notice to LB Property that he was "going forward" with the fraud claims in arbitration Greene was not obligated to make an apology.
In addition, those declarations say Greene had frequently failed to sufficiently fund his trust account to pay invoices for work done on his properties, and that Greene also accused LRA Property officials of stealing money.
In such an event, Greene would say that there were no unaccounted funds and that he didn't want anyone to believe that Tice had stolen, embezzled or taken money in the way Greene had once alleged, court transcripts show.
Greene started working with LB Property Management after LB purchased the client contracts in 2005 of another property management firm, LRA Property Management, which did work at 95 apartment buildings and other properties that Greene owned through various business entities.
Greene contended that settlement enforcement would require a new case be filed against him because Greene had not signed a written settlement agreement and was not physically present in the courtroom with his lawyer when the settlement was read into the court record.
"Both parties have agreed that they are not going to make any comment on the truth or falsity of any matter pertaining to the claim--Mr. Greene is not going to comment on it, " said Greene's lawyer, Lenny, who was made available by the Greene campaign.
"I tried to keep the conversations to a minimum because Mr. Greene is so unpleasant to deal with, " said Laura Herbert, who worked at both LB Property and LRA Property, adding that Greene screamed at one LRA employee for paying outstanding vendor invoices on his property accounts.
Greene never filled out a police report about Tice, nor did he contact any law enforcement office, but one year after Tice filed his libel lawsuit Greene filed an arbitration demand with Judicial Arbitration and Mediation Services against Tice and LB Property Management, which the sitting arbitrator dismissed in 2008.
Greene's only condition in the settlement was that he get an additional 90 days to review all of LB Property's records pertaining to accounts connected to Greene's business interests to check for fraud or misappropriation of funds for which he could make a material fraud claim in arbitration, court documents say.
" Dave Lenny, Greene's lawyer, responded to Tice's demand for an apology in February 2008, saying that "under no circumstances will Mr. Greene either violate the terms of the settlement agreement or lie to any individual that your clients have not engaged in material fraud when it is clear they have.
