Answers to these questions will be provided in late 2013 by a project conducted by UNESCO and the Georg Eckert Institute for International Textbook Research.

Between 2003 and 2008 the Georg Eckert Institute worked with the Peace Research Institute in the Middle East to produce a joint textbook of recent Israeli and Palestinian history that could be used by schools on both sides.

The study, performed in partnership with the Georg Eckert Institute for International Textbook Research, Braunschweig, Germany, will consist of a mapping of Holocaust education in all UNESCO member states, with a view of identifying where and in which contexts the Holocaust is taught.
