Gary Ross, the director of the wildly successful Lionsgate movie, The Hunger Games, has announced that he will not be directing the sequel, Catching Fire.

Barbara Jones, director of the ALA's Office for Intellectual Freedom, told the Associated Press that many of the complaints leveled against "The Hunger Games" books focused on the film version directed by Gary Ross.

The screenplay, by Gary Ross, contrives to put Dave in the Oval Office, where he poses as the President and allows himself (initially) to be manipulated by the crafty White House chief of staff (Frank Langella).

For now, it looks like new director Francis Lawrence (helmer of Constantine, I Am Legend, and Water For Elephants) is fitting right in, even perhaps eschewing some of the shaky cam work that Hunger Games director Gary Ross included in the first and third acts to much dismay.
