Mr. Subbarao, while speaking at an event in the western Indian city of Ahmedabad, said the RBI will factor in the current-account gap while formulating its monetary policy.
However the biggest factor in the narrowing of the gap, the researchers said, was an increase in the number of deaths among whites attributed to prescription drug abuse.
As a result, they borrowed money to cover the gap between what they consumed and what they sold, a factor that contributed to their current debt problems.
