"Luka Modric suffered a fracture to his fibula on Saturday which does not require surgery and simply requires the wearing of an aircast protective boot, " read a statement on the Tottenham club website.
Cipriani was playing for the first time since suffering a hairline fracture to his right fibula in the Premiership game against Northampton on 4 October.
Modric suffered the injury during the 2-1 win over Birmingham on 29 August and had to be withdrawn at half-time at White Hart Lane, with subsequent X-rays revealing that he had sustained a fracture to his right fibula.
