The local population excluding expatriates and other foreign nationals form about two-thirds of its 5 odd million population, with Chinese-Singaporeans making up about 75% of these, followed by Malay-Singaporeans with 15%, Indian-Singaporeans about 9% and rest comprising various ethnic backgrounds.
Commission chairman Faruq Sultan said on the Nile News channel that the delay was because of problems organising the vote of Egyptian expatriates and that the foreign ministry had asked for more time.
