The problem: While Intel makes a mighty fine central processing unit (CPU)--its Centrino 2 and Core 2 products can be found in most of the world's laptop and desktop computers--the company has stumbled repeatedly when it has tried to break out of that market.
Gaming performance was found to be satisfactory, though, and while the overall performance seemed fine, the 7200RPM hard drive in their test unit is apparently unavailable in the shipping unit (which holds a 5400RPM drive).
Although ATI's R600 graphics chip may have hit a recent snag, it seems that the company's Radeon X1250 GPU is coming along just fine, as it claims the proud title of "world's first" integrated graphics unit to receive Vista certification.
