The traditional show of the Myanmar military's power this year put more of its hardware on display than in the past, including helicopter demonstrations and flyovers by fighter jets in the capital, Naypyitaw.
While Texas is a right-to-work state, many of the highest paying jobs in the Dallas area are with unionized defense manufacturers like Bell Helicopter and Lockheed Martin, which produces the F-35 Lightning II fighter at a mile-long plant in Fort Worth.
The range of the equipment is classified for military reasons, but a demonstration showed that a helicopter, so equipped, could hang back and be the eyes and ears of fighter planes battling ground or aerial targets around it.
