The 3D conversion is well done and particularly in the action scenes, as one watches F-14s zooming through the air it enhanced the feeling of speed and depth.

My own feeling, however, is that the principal area in which we will see Japanese products derived from the F-16 competing with American ones will be when Japan enters the military aircraft export market in the next decade or so.
