The national sales tax is rife with problems which its evangelists refuse to acknowledge, such as the extremely problematic treatment of interest paid on taxed purchases, the way in which it turns churches into taxable entities, and the ways in which sales taxes in Europe have become progressively more complex as time has gone on.
