Dating back to the 6th Century BC, the red-figure krater (a large vessel the ancient Greeks used to mix water and wine) shows in exquisitedetail the death of Lycian king Sarpedon in the Trojan War.
Additionally, it features a macro switching ring on the lens barrel which instantly shortens the minimum focusing distance to approximately 20cm (from image plane), allowing the camera to capture small, close-up subjects with exquisitedetail.
Several etchings from James Abbott McNeill Whistler's "Thames Series" (1859) reveal the artist's canny eye for selective detail and exquisite finesse with an etcher's needle.
