There are 17 different land cover types shown in the image, including 11 natural vegetation types such as deciduous and evergreenforests, savannas, and wetlands.
The forests of the site include some of the best representatives of non-equatorial tropical evergreenforests anywhere and are home to at least 325 globally threatened flora, fauna, bird, amphibian, reptile and fish species.
