The educational, cultural and ethical dimensions of sustainable development are the three other areas that UNESCO will be promoting in the lead-up to the Conference.

UNESCO: MEDIA SERVICES

It promotes self-regulation by the media, and the development of ethical codes of practice as well as awareness raising about issues of media accountability among the public.

Elaboration of concepts relevant to enhanced understanding of ethical issues relating to development (including in particular societal, environmental and technological challenges), in conjunction with the working groups of COMEST and in collaboration with CIPSH, ISSC and other relevant partners.

UNESCO, as a member of the advisory body of this project that is funded by the European Commission and as a leading United Nations agency in bioethics, will host this meeting that comes in the light of the international reflection on the ethical principles that should guide science and technology development.
