The National Center on Elder Abuse has partnered with the Eldercare Locator to produce a consumer guide that is now available to help stem elder financial abuse.
The Eldercare Locator is a free national service of the U.S. Administration on Aging (AoA) that is administered by the National Association of Area Agencies on Aging.
Employees who are stressed and distracted are not productive, so employers that understand this offer resources to help employees deal with day-to-day, emotional, and financial issues that accompany eldercare.
These included aging network supports (such as the Eldercare Locator, the ombudsman program, the National Center on Elder Abuse, and several counseling programs aimed at helping seniors enroll in benefits programs).
Many of you here represent companies and workplaces that are already doing just that -- embracing telecommuting, flextime, compressed work weeks, job sharing, flexible start and end times, and helping your employees generally find quality childcare and eldercare.
As the world's population ages, mobile robotic platforms such as SAMI or Ava have the potential to be applied to the healthcare industry -- from helping the elderly or disabled at home to pushing wheelchairs and bringing residents to the cafeteria or outdoors in eldercare homes.
