This is a matter near to my heart, because I am confronted with four or five Spam calls every evening on my home phone, which is registered on the DoNotCalllist.
The Mercury News article tells us that 3.8 million complaints were filed on the DoNotCallList website last year, which sounds impressive until you consider that it covers only about 1% of the offending calls.
And because tax-exempt organizations are not bound by the federal do-not calllist, the firms were able to randomly call consumers, pitching their services under the guise of a non-profit counseling service.
