Conservative shadow Cabinet Office minister Oliver Heald condemned the use of taxpayers' money to "do the Labour Party's dirty work" and said public funds should not be spent on "helping them cook up new policies".
He had alleged a "dirty tricks" campaign, which he said prompted Wrexham party members to drop him from the election line-up after 20 years in politics.
Even Megawati's advisers in the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) have begun to complain privately of her reluctance to dirty her hands with dealmaking.
