News Corp. shares are down about 4 percent today as a result of concerns over the viability of the BSkyB deal and the closure of the profitable News of the World.
"There's a high level of difficulty because of the unknowns, " said Gary Snow, a project manager with Washington Closure Hanford, the federal contractor managing the effort to deal with the newfound waste.
The bill is a key part of a deal struck by Home Secretary David Blunkett with France, which earlier on Tuesday announced the early closure of the controversial Sangatte refugee camp, near Calais.
