But SigFig, which will release apps for Android and the iPhone later this month, takes it further, analyzing the data to show your asset allocation and whether you could save on fees by switching to different mutual funds.
This is accomplished by sophisticated control and manipulation of satellite spot-beams, on-the-fly bandwidth allocation from the satellites, and data compression.
The argument is that being able to control the data rates for different types of content, choking the pipeline for individual users or at particular times, will allow allocation of bandwidth to more urgent applications.
