Corroborating reports, the pictured controller features a rectangular touchpad in between the standard d-pad and four-button setup, though it's missing the rumored Share button.

The basic operation is simple enough, with triggers, face buttons, a d-pad and everything else you'd need to ape a modern console controller.

Lag is less prominent on Socom 4, and we'd say we're pretty accurate with the controller already, though the framerate choppiness of this pre-alpha build obviously hampers that a bit.

The controller, which is likely not the final product, includes a touchpad in between the d-pad and the traditional buttons, while the thumbsticks remain largely in the same place as the DualShock 3.
