Their modular modern home has space for Mr. Turner's studio, the living space the couple desired and a roof garden from which they can survey miles of London's skyline.
The couple removed and replaced the home's parabola-shaped roof, stripped away dozens of layers of paint, ripped out a prior owner's black Formica bathroom, reverted the master bedroom to Mr. Lautner's original floor plan and redid a guest bedroom.
Fleur El-Hspa, owner the Picasso Express restaurant which had to close due to the roof collapse, said regeneration plans had been in the pipeline "for a couple of years".
