Shahzad came to the United States and attended college, earning a bachelor's degree in computerapplicationsand information systems from Connecticut's University of Bridgeport in 2000.
Mr. Page's comments come one day before the start of Google's annual conference in San Francisco for software developers who create applications for Google's Android and Chrome computer-operating systems.
Software now covers a maze of different industries, including applications software, operating systems, databases, the Internet, computer-aided design and networking.
