The backlog prompted the closure of the M20 between the Maidstone and Ashford turn-offs to allow for the complex operation to shift non-freight traffic off the motorway and onto the A20 to make room for the hundreds of lorries waiting to board ferries and trains for France.
At the time it was hoped this would put an end to traffic heading for the Cribbs Causeway shopping complex - to the north of Bristol - from cutting through Patchway.
According to Mr. Cassar, the local authorities have worked very hard on carrying out conservation activities on the monument and for finding solutions to control heavy traffic in the vicinity of the endangered minarets in the Musalla Complex.
Traffic is only one of many issues faced by the American Dream complex, which sits partially completed on state land 10 miles west of Manhattan, visible from major highways.
