She is a recipient of numerous awards, including the AERA Scholars of Color Distinguished Scholar Award, the AERA Division C Sylvia Scribner Award, a Bernard Osher Fellowship with the Exploratorium Museum of Science, and a fellowship at the Center for Advanced Studies in the Behavioral Sciences.
